Here are a few of my favorite locations on the North Oregon Coast! All locations are about 90 minutes from Portland and a short drive from Cannon Beach.

Located in Arch Cape. A 10-minute drive south of Cannon Beach. Click on the photo for pics and info.
Located just 10 minutes south of Cannon Beach, Hug Point is a very popular elopement location because of the rock formations, caves, waterfall, stagecoach road, and forested areas.
Important to know: You can only get to the waterfall, stagecoach road, and large caves at low tide. You can check tide tables here.
Favorite places for a ceremony:
With its grassy sand dunes and beautiful rock formations, Chapman Beach is a less populated location on the north end of Cannon Beach.
Chapman Beach is typically less busy than Cannon Beach and there are many places for a private ceremony. The beach is easily accessible and a short walk from the street parking. Parking may be hard to find during high season.
Favorite place for an elopement and small ceremony (50 or fewer guests): There is a wonderful open area in the grassy sand dunes to the north (right) of the main walkway.
With its expansive ocean and beach views the Ecola viewpoint is also known as one of the filming locations for The Goonies. If you are looking for a forested setting there are many places to choose from at Ecola Park.
Just down the hill from the Ecola viewpoint is Indian Beach. A beautiful and less-populated beach.
Favorite place for an elopement: I love the little lookout at Indian Beach which is accessed by a short walk from the north end of the parking lot. See pic above showing a couple with their parents sitting on the bench.
Short Sands beach is about 1/2 mile hike through old growth trees to a perfect sandy beach. Devils Cauldron is a short hike downhill to a beautiful viewpoint. Elk Flats Trail lookout is a steep hike downhill to a cliff with a stunning expansive view of the ocean.
I wish I had more pictures of the beautiful locations at Oswald West! The cliffside spots are really spectacular (especially Elk Flats trail). I have a video I can share with you if you're interested. If you're looking for a very dramatic view on the edge of a cliff this is definitely a contender!
During a stormy day the cliffside location off Elk Flats Trail is not ideal. There is a very slippery hill that goes straight down. Be sure to wear boots or shoes with a good tread when walking in Oswald West. Not recommended for those with mobility challenges.
Easy access to the beach and known for its twisted patterns of layered rock, Arcadia is a lovely beach for a large or small ceremony.
The iconic Haystack Rock at Cannon Beach is a favorite spot for many couples!
