Cannon Beach
One of the most iconic wedding locations on the Oregon coast, Cannon Beach is perfect for weddings with more than 25 guests. There are several beautiful spots to celebrate a larger gathering, and I especially recommend the Surfsand Resort. They specialize in beach weddings and offer two elegant indoor venues for your reception, ensuring a seamless and stress-free planning process.
Rockaway Beach
I love Rockaway Beach for larger weddings because it’s a lesser-known, much less crowded alternative to Pacific City or Cannon Beach. Its wide sandy shores offer plenty of space for your celebration. The only downside is that there’s no dedicated venue here, so you’ll need to arrange your own rentals and setups—but the peaceful atmosphere and natural beauty make it well worth the effort.
Del Rey Beach
Located north of Seaside and near the town of Gearhart, Del Rey Beach is a fantastic choice for weddings. One of its best features is that you’re allowed to drive right onto the beach, making it easy to bring chairs, an arbor, and other ceremony essentials directly to your spot. Just be sure to secure a permit from the State Parks Department beforehand.
Pacific City
Pacific City is one of the most picturesque and sought-after locations for a beach wedding. For gatherings of more than 20 guests, I recommend the Pelican Brewery. They offer a stunning ceremony space right on the beach with breathtaking views, as well as an inviting indoor reception area.
Other beautiful ceremony spots include the top of the sand dune or the red sandstone coves at the cape—best accessed when the tide is 4 feet or lower.
Hug Point
One of the most popular and diverse elopement and micro-wedding locations on the North Oregon Coast, Hug Point offers a magical mix of sea caves, waterfalls, and dramatic cliffs—all within a short walk from the parking area. It's important to check the tides when planning your ceremony, as beach access is limited during high tide. From May through September, parking can be challenging between 12–5 PM, so an early or later ceremony is often the best choice.
Chapman Beach
I love Chapman Beach for a micro-wedding. Tucked into a quiet residential neighborhood on the north end of Cannon Beach, it offers a peaceful alternative to the more crowded main beach. With stunning views of the Needles and Haystack Rock, it feels both scenic and secluded. Permits are typically not an issue here, and there’s usually plenty of street parking available for a small group, making it an ideal spot for an intimate ceremony.
Ecola State Park
Famous as a filming location for The Goonies and Twilight, Ecola State Park is beloved for its breathtaking views of Cannon Beach and the dramatic Oregon coastline. With easy walking trails, lush coastal forest, and a spacious parking area, it’s both beautiful and accessible. The scenic overlooks provide a stunning backdrop for ceremonies, especially for couples who want sweeping views without a long hike.
Arcadia Beach
Just a few minutes south of Cannon Beach, Arcadia offers a wide, sandy shoreline framed by dramatic cliffs and lush forest. It’s easily accessible with a small parking area just off Highway 101 and a short path leading down to the beach. At low tide, you can even walk north to reach Hug Point or south toward the base of Lion Rock. With its natural beauty and easy access, Arcadia Beach is a great option for couples looking for a scenic yet simple ceremony location.
Arch Cape Beach
A hidden gem along the coast, Arch Cape Beach offers a peaceful and scenic setting for a ceremony. The more secluded south end features dramatic rock formations that resemble a natural cathedral—an unforgettable backdrop for your vows. This area is only accessible at very low tide during late summer, adding to its sense of magic and privacy.
Short Sands Beach
Just 15 minutes south of Cannon Beach, this stunning cove is a favorite among surfers and nature lovers alike. Reached by a scenic half-mile trail through old-growth forest and across a charming footbridge, Short Sands offers a secluded and romantic setting. A waterfall graces the north end of the beach, accessible only during negative tide. This location is ideal for intimate weddings with guests who are comfortable with a short hike and do not have mobility limitations.
Indian Beach
A hidden gem nestled at the base of Ecola State Park, Indian Beach features a long sandy shoreline and a stunning wooded overlook—perfect for an intimate elopement. The site offers convenient amenities including a large parking lot and public restrooms. Beach access is best at low tide, ideally when the tide is 4 feet or lower.
Neahkahnie Mountain
One of my absolute favorite spots for a small elopement, Neahkahnie Mountain is famous for its striking rock formations that resemble ancient ruins and cathedrals—some dating back 15 million years! This breathtaking cliffside location offers dramatic views and a sense of timeless beauty. It’s best visited during the dry season, as the downhill slope can be slippery—so be sure to wear your hiking boots!
Pacific City
Known for its breathtaking rocky backdrops, red-hued coves, and the towering presence of Cape Kiwanda, Pacific City is one of the most iconic wedding locations on the Oregon Coast. A 250-foot sand dune offers sweeping views of the coastline, while the beach below provides stunning photo opportunities at every turn. With its dramatic scenery and wide-open spaces, this spot is perfect for couples dreaming of a bold, nature-filled backdrop.
Secret Forest
This stunning private forest venue is available by reservation only and features a magical garden setting alongside a tranquil creek with a charming yurt. It’s an ideal choice for couples who envision an intimate forest ceremony surrounded by nature’s beauty and serenity.
